Oral presentations

25 minutes will be given for regular oral presentations, plus 5 minutes for discussion.
50 minutes are allocated for invited lectures, plus 10 minutes for discussion.
You are kindly requested to appear in the conference room at least ten minutes before the session is scheduled to start and to introduce yourself to the session chair.
There will be a technician present in the room who will help you in any way possible.

We provide a Notebook equipped with Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 running on Windows XP to host computer presentations. If you wish to use this computer, bring your presentation on CD-rom or PC-formatted disquettes (at least one session) in advance to the technician.

If you are using slides, make sure you have placed the slides in the correct order and give them to the technician before the session.

The conference room where the presentations will be held is equipped with microphones (radio microphone is not available).

Poster presentations

Poster sessions (including soft drinks) are scheduled from 17.00 to 18.30 on October 19,20 and 21. Poster presenters should stand in front of their poster during the poster session to answer questions.

Poster presenters should hang their posters during the morning hours (e.g., during coffee break), or at lunchtime, and remove them at the end of the session. Please hang your poster at the position denoted by the same number associated with your poster in the Technical Program.

Thumbtacks will be provided in the poster presentation area.

The maximum poster size is A0 (841mm x 1189mm)

Session Chairs

Read (or at least look through) the papers being presented at your session.
Please, appear in the conference room at least 10 minutes before the session. Introduce yourself to the speakers, who are requested to be in the conference room at this time.

The conference room has all standard audio-visual equipment. This includes fixed microphones that should be used. There will be a technician to help out with anything practical that needs to be done.

Each regular presentation is scheduled to last a total of 30 minutes. Invited lectures are scheduled to last 1 hour. In any case, the last 5 minutes should be devoted to discussion and change of speaker. Please strictly adhere to the scheduled time.

Ask the audience for questions and comments. Since microphones are in fixed positions, please ask those in the audience willing to make questions/comments to come at the chairman's place to use the microphone.  If no questions are forthcoming, it is your task to ask a few questions yourself.
If a speaker is missing or if a speaker finishes before the time limit, continue directly on to the next speaker. Do not allow remaining speakers extra time. Aim to finish earlier instead.

After the session, it is a nice gesture to thank the audience for listening. Also, this is the time for announcements (if any) from the organisers to the participants.
