1st International Symposium on 19-21 October, 2005 Palazzo Serra di Cassano Naples, Italy |
BV&AI 2005 is organized by the research group Neural, Visual and Cognitive Models of Natural and Artificial Systems of the Institute of Cybernetics “E. Caianiello” of the Italian National Research Council, Pozzuoli, Naples (ICIB - CNR) with the support of the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies (IISF), Palazzo Serra di Cassano, Naples, and the help of the Macroscopic Quantum Coherence and Computing Association (MQC2), Pozzuoli, Naples. The conference venue is Palazzo Serra di Cassano, Via Monte di Dio, 14, 80132 Naples.
BV&AI 2005 is a multidisciplinary symposium aimed to gather scientists involved in the study of Brain, Vision and Intelligence, from both the Natural and the Artificial point of view. The underlying idea is that to advance in the above research topics, integration with and attention to the others is necessary.
BV&AI 2005 main research areas are: Brain Basics, Natural Vision, Artificial Vision, and Artificial Intelligence. Topics for the expected contributions are listed in BV&AI 2005 Scientific Program.
BV&AI 2005 proceedings will include all contributions, accepted after peer reviewing of full paper submissions, and will be published by Springer Verlag in the series “Lecture Notes in Computer Science”.
In addition, extended versions of selected BV&AI 2005 papers will be published, after peer reviewing, in two special issues of international journals, dealing with natural and artificial aspects of the symposium topics. For the natural aspects, the special issue will be published by BioSystems. For the artificial aspects, the special issue will be published by the “International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence”.
